AYF Youth Corps offers a powerful opportunity for Armenian youth in the Diaspora to build lasting, meaningful connections with the Homeland. More than just a summer program, it’s a transformative experience rooted in service, heritage, and nation-building.
Founded in 1994 following the ceasefire of the Artsakh Liberation Movement, Youth Corps began as a post-war recovery initiative. Between 1994 and 2007, AYF volunteers traveled to the Republic of Artsakh to help rebuild war-torn villages—laying the foundation for a new chapter of hope and resilience in the liberated Homeland.
In 2008, the program evolved, shifting from physical reconstruction to community empowerment. AYF Youth Corps established a summer day camp in Gyumri—Armenia’s second-largest city—designed to serve underprivileged youth. This marked a turning point: through cultural exchange, education, and mentorship, volunteers began impacting lives in new, meaningful ways.
By 2011, the program expanded beyond Gyumri to multiple locations across Armenia and Artsakh, reaching more children and deepening its impact. Each summer, Youth Corps now welcomes over a thousand campers—offering them a safe, joyful environment to learn, grow, and thrive.
Camp activities include English language basics, patriotic songs, mental health awareness, arts and crafts, and cultural exchange. More than just fun and games, these experiences help shape the next generation of engaged, resilient, and civically minded young Armenians.
From its inception, Youth Corps has empowered young Diasporans to take an active role in the future of Armenia—bridging continents, generations, and hearts in the spirit of unity and service.
